We are pleased that Martha Beattie from the League of Women Voters (LoWV) will be available to help us understand the propositions and measures on the March 3 primary ballot.
As you know, the LoWV is widely viewed as this country’s most trusted, non-partisan source for fair and factual information on elections. Martha Beattie is Speakers Bureau chairperson of League of Women Voters of San Jose/Santa Clara. She has previously served as Treasurer, President, and Action chairperson of League. Before her retirement, she was Director of Research and Evaluation for the Santa Clara County Department of Alcohol and Drug Services.
We will also have a representative from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters to help guide us through the logistics for the upcoming primary. This primary election is the first time that all voters in our county will receive a ballot by mail. Known as the “Voters Choice Act”, voters have the option to vote by mail, drop your official ballot in one of over 100 dropboxes, or to vote in person at over 130 voting centers throughout the county. You may also visit a voting center to register to vote or to change your voter information, such as a party or address change. To locate a dropbox or voting center near you, please visit https://www.sccgov.org/sites/rov/VBM/Pages/VoteEarly.aspx.
We are honored to have Bill James, Chair of the Santa Clara Democratic Party, who will help us understand the role of the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee delegates. You will also have the opportunity to learn about and meet some of the candidates.
